The Dance of Death

Now let us go and do this thing
This thing that death, to us shall bring
The dance of heaven, dance of hell
The dance that mortals dance so well
And when you take your final breath
You’ll know you’ve danced the dance of death
The dance demonic, dance divine
This dance we dance, this dance is mine
I am death’s right hand man
The one who leads death’s immortal band
And when we come to take your breath
You’ll know you’ve danced the dance of death

  18.

Dance, Dance, Dance

Sitting on the porch
Reclined in a wicker chair bearing the signs of it's age
I stare wistfully into the garden
Watching the grass, watching the flowers
Dance, Dance, Dance
They sway to the rhythm of the wind
I marvel at the leaves holding valiantly against nature
I see the dying leaves lose their battle with mother nature
They let go, flutter, swoop, drift to the ground
Their dance so beautiful yet so tragic
Dance, Dance, Dance
This is their final dance
Smooth and slow
Forever tumbling to the ground
Dance, Dance, Dance
This is the final dance

  19.

She Dances

She dances in the sunlight
She dances in the rain
She dances in delight
She dances through her pain

She has only a little time
To dance out her ballet
She has only a little time
Like sand slipping away

(Sand in an hourglass,
Time passing much too fast)

She dances to the darkness
She dances to her end
She dances through the ashes
Her dance did life transcend

She has a mere few seconds
To dance and find her peace
She has a mere few seconds
Before her life will cease

(Dancing through her illness
Dancing for forgiveness)

Shadows behind corners
Shadows behind doors
Waiting not much longer
Waiting now no more

  20.

Dance, Dance, Dance.

Dance, Dance, Dance
Dance your sweat away
Dance the infectious beat
The hall is full
The music is great
Thumb, thumb, thumb
Our feet make a go
Eyes glitter a world so great
Voices smart and coy
over shoulders they whisper
Dance, Dance, Dance
The silvery moon is up
Stars glitter birds to nest
It is a sweet melody
A journey starts, Dance
Sweet melody and breath
A union!
A young one will see day
Dance, Dance, Dance.
