One Day in Time

One January day in the long ago
We promised to meet in the afterglow.
There was no heart as true as thine
There was no happier heart than mine.
We saw the moonbeams come out to play.
Our troubles and woes floating away.
Love songs were echoing up in the skies
All because of the love in our eyes.
And on a wedding day in Spring
I was the fairy wearing your ring.

One Day Long Ago

Poem written many moons ago.

Blue sky shone through,
a gentle breeze blew.
I was queen of the land
as you asked for my hand.
You had it all planned
'one day long ago'.
Our hearts were aglow,
and we kissed with a sigh
way up on high
at Nottingham Castle.

You played the May King
Robin Hood of the Spring.
Maid Marian, I played...
your wishes obeyed.
Sweet promises we made
and I will never forget
how our loving eyes met;
ignoring passsers-by
way up on high
at Nottingham Castle.

One Fine Day

You are the wine,
You are the dove
You are the wedding ring
Sparkling with love.
Tomorrow we'll meet
Up in heaven above.

We'll see the swan
Float on the lake
We'll gather red roses
As Burns' prose discloses
Romantic the hours
Up in heaven above.

Then we will shine
In the name of true love
Hearing the organ play
For the Wings of a Dove
Mendelssohn reigns
Up in heaven above.

One Fine Day In Heaven

You are the wine
you are the dove
and you are the wedding ring
sparkling with love.

Tomorrow we'll meet
and float on the lake.
We'll gather red roses
as Burns' prose discloses.
How romantic the hours
up in heaven above.
Then we will shine
in the name of true love,
hearing the organ play
'For The Wings of a Dove'
Mendelssohn reigns
Up in heaven above.

You are the wine
you are the dove
and you are the wedding ring
sparkling with love.
