Such A Sad Life
Once it was June with roses in bloom.
Once she was 'all' to him, even his moon.
But now every hour, he sits home alone
Anxiously waiting to answer the 'phone.
Night after night she is with a new beau.
She, who was born twenty-one years ago.
Courting another...how could it be?
Oh what a plight - he'd lost her you see.
He searched everywhere for his lady so fair
Crying now and then in his old rocking chair.
For in sunny weather, at the seafront they'd meet
And life was complete, hand in hand with his sweet.

Such Despair
Once he was a millionaire
who spent his fortune with much care.
He wooed and married a beauty queen
and bought her jewels and a limousine.
He owned apartments down in the City
Villas in Spain and property in Italy.
But suddenly he collapsed and died,
his wealth he left to his beautiful bride.
She soon became a 'hey big spender'
even though acquaintances warned her!
Huge debts accrued, and all could see
she was a 'fallen' legatee.
The bills came floating through the door
Until she could carry on no more...
a ruined soul, without a friend,
her impulsive lifestyle at an end.
Days were filled with such despair,
alone ~ she just played Solitaire,
waiting for the 'phone to ring ~
Oh bankruptcy is a dreadful thing.

Sudden Impulse
Forty words:
No! Not his lady of darkness
But Sylvia excelling.
Love songs he sang to her
With angels descending.
Overcome with emotion
Sudden impulse took flight
A kiss full of passion
for a mannequin of fashion
'Sylvia' joy of his night.

Suddenly
Poetic Form - Rictameter.
Syllable count -
two-four-six-eight-ten
and return.
Shining
Spanish island
is where we were going.
when red vintage wine was flowing
and beautiful sparkling eyes were glowing.
But 'suddenly' your health declined
veils of haze hid the sun
lovelight never
Shining
