A Deadly Secret

I have witnessed something that I have kept a secret,
It cost a lot to me and to them,
I didn't go to anyone for help,
I denied everything,
Including my existence there,
Now I have grown into someone who won't forgive herself,
Someone who can't stop thinking if I had done something,
Would it have been ok,
I was worried about my family; my friends; and yes even me,
But now I see you can't deny everything like that,
And I would give anything to change what I have done,
And try my hardest to stop it from happening again,
But we all know that that isn't possible so now what to do,
I just feel like I can never be forgiven.

A Fire Burning Inside

This fire is lit by hate,
When you talk it burns higher,
And hotter,
When your around it won't leave,
It just rages on,
Until you leave,
It follows you out.

A Mockingbird's Love

I sit here looking out my window,
And there atop a tree,
Happens to be a mockingbird nest,
As I peer over my shoulder,
Into that little perch I notice a miniscule bird,
He looks at me and chirps,
And I see his mother come swooping in,
She looks at me with pure dismay,
And then turns away,
She cuddles him and gives him some food,
One last glance in my direction,
And then she's off,
But she hasn't really gone,
No, she's waiting around to protect what she loves,
What is so interesting is that she is an animal and it's her instincts,
But we are the 'superior' race but with all that goes on,
When did that instinct leave us?

Don't Take the Fast/Easy Road

Some things are meant to be challenging,
To give our faith and will a chance,
But we always have a choice,
And the other is,
Take the fast road,
But when you do you skip that chance to prove your hope,
You show a coward who runs,
And most of the time the road comes to a dead end,
REALLY soon,
So whats the point?
