Lost In A House Fire
The loss of a child
The loss of a wife
Tis all the same as the loss of your own life
The loss of house and all that's inside
Tis all the same as if your whole soul had died
The loss of temper
Loss of faith and self-control
Tis all the same as knowing you have now grown very old
The loss of all memory when all is becalmed
When you find that your wife and child all safe and unharmed

A Rainbow
A rainbow has five colours
And I don't know why
A rainbow isn't anything
Yet it's right there in the sky
I know naught about the rainbow
And why the rainbow's bent
But that it still arches over me
And that it is heaven sent
That's why I love the rainbow
And why to me its beauty is the best
It is Gods graffiti
Signed
By He who's hands we're blest

A CAMPFIRE
There's something ‘bout a fire and the mesmerizing glow
Of its dancing, flick'ring embers that does enthrall me so
A soft and gentle fire slowly glowing in the night
Soothing, calming, warming. It is such a pure delight
The best time for a fire's when the flames they have died down
And the crackling and the popping all have ceased
All the flurry and the groaning, all the hurry and the churning
All have gone, and now the fire is at peace

Water, Water Everywhere
Water, water everywhere,
Over here and over there,
From the sky unto the ground,
Water, water all around.
Water, water everywhere,
There is just too much of it,
Why Lord, do you give so much?
We only asked you for a bit!
