Silence

Silence
This word has millions of meanings to me
Silence
The way I find peace, the way I see life with joy
Silence
When our country faces war and our friends and family end this war
Silence
When they hit the ground fighting for me!
Silence
As I weep for the men who died for this country
Silence
When I know that God makes all things new
Silence
Joy and happiness
Silence
Remorse and catastrophe
Silence
When we face the enemies in life we use
Silence
The never ending and nonunderstanding
Silence
The unspoken truth
Silence
My way of life
Silence

Silence

As Deborah and I sat together the other evening in a silence that endears
I was reminded of the many faces of silence I’ve seen throughout the years.

There is an undiscovered beauty in silence...in her perplexity.
As we search to find the mystery in her tranquility.

Have you ever stood mesmerized in the midst of a silent snow?
Or watched clouds silently change shape as they drift slowly to and fro?

Have you ever stretched out silently under the joy of a meteor shower
And not contemplated the existence, the possibility, of a higher power?

Who has never felt the awkward silence that accompanies a first date?
Or tiptoed through the silence when you arrived home a little late?

And in the aftermath of a death, the ultimate silent tragedy,
Who hasn’t felt the silence you once loved become your enemy?

Sadness arrives in an empty stillness, for there is a silent moment when...
You realize you will never see or hear or touch that person again.

And even though they may be gone...perhaps for many years
Isn’t it in the silence of your loneliness where you cry your deepest tears?

But it is also in the silent darkness when you feel yourself ascend
And you realize as if by magic silence is again your friend.

You feel her presence all around and you smile because you know
It’s in the silence of the evening when the trees begin to grow?

It’s in the silence of the day that the flowers create their blooms
And where does the miracle of life begin if not in the silence of a mother’s womb?

So my thoughts have come full circle...sitting in silence together can console
For where else does love blossom...if not in the silence of our soul.

Your Silence

It was your silence that seduced me,
the silence of your gestures and your smiles,
the silence of your wide eyes and parted lips
gazing at me.
And in the silence where beauty once concealed
could no longer be heard,
the silence of your words
caused me to go astray.

Silence

There is a lot about silence..
Sometimes its like an intangible license!

Silence because of your fear..
And because somebody is so near!

Silence because you meditate..
And because you are the mediate!

Silence because you decided to surrender..
And because you don’t want to answer that offender!

Silence because you are judged by a few..
And because a lot more trust you!

Silence because you don’t find him worth arguing..
And because you are simply listening!

Silence because you already know you are lovely..
And because at times people are sadly ugly!

Silence because you want to forgive..
And because you simply want to relive!

Silence because you are stunned by the reality…
And because even virtual is imaginative practicality!

Silence because you are embarrassed and ashamed..
And because your words ended up being unread!

Silence because you know you have a hope..
And because you know solution isn’t “tying yourself by rope”!

Silence sometimes so productive..
Politics is successful in proving it destructive!

Silence by the sea so wonderful..
By the grave worst than awful!

Silence when with the one you feel passionate..
Unlikely also with the one you hate!

Silence even when everything is said..
Also when your huge bills are already paid!

If you wonder why silence is difficult to understand..
Ask yourself what part of somebody you cannot stand!

Silence sometimes kills..
And sometimes it also heals!
